Docent-Led Hike at Ventura River PreservE

Saturday, February 17, 2024
9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Ventura River Preserve
Length: 4.6 mi
Difficulty: Moderately Strenuous

Join OVLC Docents Bob Blackmur and Dodge Mallare on Saturday, February 17 for a docent-led hike at the Ventura River Preserve (VRP). This 4.6 mile loop will take you along Oso Ridge Trail, Chaparral Crest Trail, and return via Allan Jacobs Trail. Bob and Dodge will focus on the geology of the valley, native plant and wildflower identification, in addition to mindfullness and meditative hiking practices.

This hike is appropriate for ages 10 years old and up, but please no dogs. Please wear closed-toe shoes, boots and pants recommended, and bring sun protection, water, and snacks. Hiking poles are recommended, but not necessary, for some slopes, rocky terrain, and slippery footing. Space is extremely limited and we often have a waitlist for these hikes. If you receive a spot, we ask that you please attend, or if you are unable to make it, you contact us 48 hours in advance in order to offer your spot to someone else.

Please email Rhett Walker at rhett@ovlc.org to RSVP. Please specify the hike you are RSVPing for along with the number of people in your party.
