Executive Director

Ojai Valley Land Conservancy (OVLC) | Ojai, California

The Ojai Valley Land Conservancy is seeking an inspiring and experienced leader to serve as its next Executive Director. This is an opportunity to lead a thriving conservation organization at a pivotal moment in its history as it prepares to steward the anticipated acquisition and restoration of Rancho Cañada Larga, a 6,500-acre landscape that will more than triple OVLC's current protected land holdings.

OVLC protects and restores the natural landscapes of the Ojai Valley and currently stewards more than 2,600 acres of open space and 27 miles of trails. Supported by dedicated staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners, the organization is entering its next phase of growth as it expands its capacity to protect, restore, and care for some of the region's most important natural landscapes.

The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, oversee organizational operations and finances, lead fundraising efforts, cultivate community partnerships, and work closely with an engaged Board of Directors and talented staff team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for conservation, strong organizational leadership experience, fundraising success, and the ability to guide a mission-driven organization through a period of growth and organizational development.

Key priorities include:

• Leading OVLC through the acquisition and long-term stewardship planning of Rancho Cañada Larga

• Strengthening organizational infrastructure and systems to support growth

• Deepening relationships with donors, partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders

• Building on OVLC's strong culture, conservation impact, and community support

Salary Range: $160,000–$195,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
In addition, significantly reduced-cost rental housing on OVLC property may be available for the selected candidate, if desired, providing a unique opportunity to live within and further connect with the community served by the organization. 

Location: Ojai, California (on-site position)
