RESTORATION FIELD CREW

The Restoration Field Crew position at the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy (OVLC) is a hands-on, outdoor role that requires significant physical activity and often takes place in remote locations. Key responsibilities include planting native vegetation, weed control, assisting with nursery operations, and operating various tools and equipment. The role also involves occasional public interaction, volunteer leadership, and supporting conservation-related activities, including contributions to OVLC's social media and newsletters. The position demands adaptability to different tasks, ranging from fieldwork to assisting with OVLC events.

Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to conservation, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the physical capacity to perform demanding outdoor work in variable conditions. Essential qualifications include a clean driving record, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to engage with the public, while preferred skills include proficiency in habitat restoration and native plant identification, off-road driving, and CPR/first aid certification. The role requires strong communication skills to represent OVLC’s mission positively to the community, and applicants must adhere to OVLC's COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Starting Wage: $21-23/hour
