Rewild Ojai
NativE Garden Tour 2025

April 26
9am-3pm

Ready to rewild?

Join OVLC for our second annual Rewild Ojai Native Garden Tour, featuring 16 superb native plant gardens across the Ojai Valley. From formal gardens to wildflower meadows, see what your neighbors are planting and get inspired!

Before the start of the tour, you will receive a copy of the 104-page Rewild Ojai Native Garden Tour book, which includes the tour map, information about the gardens, how to care for native plants, and so much more!

Gardens around the valley will open their gates at 9am. Each location will have a knowledgeable docent to answer your questions about the garden. You can peruse the gardens at your leisure until 1pm. In addition to visiting the various gardens around the valley, please join us at Birdsong Ranch, a private residence that’s one of the best examples of native gardening in the valley, open from 9am to 3pm. There will be spirits provided by our sponsor, Ventura Spirits, as well as food, birdwatching, and, of course, an exemplary native plant garden.

GARDEN TOUR BOOK

Additionally, each attendee will receive a copy of the 104-page Rewild Ojai Native Garden Tour book containing a complete tour guide, seasonal native gardening tips, and even landscaping designs to start your own native garden.

Garden Tour sneak peek

  • THE PARKERS' REWILD

Started in March of 2018, this wild-scaped garden stood out from the lingering lawns of its neighbors. The plant palette was chosen to encompass only what one would find in the surrounding hills (mostly). Inviting life from the surrounding hills back into the yard, and reflecting the changing seasons of the valley, this garden is ever changing and once again wild.

  • ALWAYS PLEASANT ON PLEASANT

This garden was designed to show that the look and feel of a traditional California Mediterranean garden can be accomplished using California native plants. Working to appeal to those that want a more formal looking garden, a plant palette was chosen to reflect those aesthetics. Planted in the Fall of 2022, this garden is thriving.

  • Birdsong Ranch

This property began its journey to native landscaping in the Fall of 2022. Designed by Morami Studio, the formal gardens near the home slowly transition to a more wild feel further down the paths. It was designed to provide native habitat for birds and promote biodiversity. With something in bloom nearly all year round, this garden is a true testament to the beauty of local native landscaping. Birdsong Ranch is an inspiration for anyone looking to Rewild their land.

Access to Private Native Gardens

Please be aware that these gardens are privately owned and are not part of the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy's public preserves. Permission from the property owners is required before any visit, which is typically granted only during the annual Rewild Ojai Native Garden Tour. We kindly ask that you refrain from visiting without prior authorization. Thank you.

  • Stay on walkways and marked paths.

Our event is taking place in residential areas, please be mindful of neighbors.

Follow traffic signs and be sensitive to neighbors when parking.

This is a garden tour, not a home tour. Please do not enter the homes.

Photos taken for the tour are permitted for personal use only.

No smoking or vaping near the gardens or the homes.

Pets are not permitted on the tour.
