Women In the Wild

In honor of International Women’s Day, the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy is hosting women-led events on Saturday, March 7. 

We’ve created adventures to help you get out in the wild and connect with other adventurous folks! We hope you’ll join us! All event details below.

Sunrise Yoga  

Experience a pink moment and get a workout in as you welcome the day on the beautiful Valley View Preserve. Led by Peak Power Yoga and Wellness.

When: 7 am

Where: Valley View Preserve – Wilson Point. Park at the Valley View Signal St. Trail Head. Walk on Shelf Road about a half-mile to Wilson Point. Yoga starts at 7. The walk from Signal to Wilson Point takes about 15 minutes.

What to Expect: This yoga class is for all levels. The hike out to Wilson Point is easy, but on uneven terrain. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Please bring water and a yoga mat/blanket.

Valley View Preserve Sunrise Hike

Spring will be in full swing! Here’s your chance to work up a sweat, bag some amazing views of the valley, and learn a thing or two about what grows here.

When: 7 am – 10 am

What to Expect: This is a moderately strenuous hike. Wear good shoes, sun protection, and bring plenty of water.

Mother-Child Nature Discovery with Ventura Wild

Join us for a magical day of discovery, connection, and fun as we explore the river bottom, splash a bit, and do some fun activities together. This gently facilitated event provides moms with skills to bring children into wild spaces with confidence, and space for child-centered explorations and play. 

When: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm

Who: This event is for children ages 4-7.

Where: Meet at the Oso Trailhead at the Ventura River Preserve.

What to Expect: This is an easy walk down to the river. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water and snacks. Optional: Bring food for a picnic lunch.

Ventura River Preserve Hike

Enjoy a guided hike on the Venture River Preserve. Led by two of our amazing docents, you’ll learn about wildlife, wildflowers, the history of the preserve and more!
