Ventura River Clean-Up Event

10968377_10153027642492604_9202264533990875901_nThe Ojai Valley Land Conservancy in partnership with Euterpe Farms will be hosting a Ventura River Preserve cleanup on President’s Day, Monday, February 16th, from 9 a.m. till 1p.m. The event will stage from the Farm to clean up a large amount of trash in the Ventura River.  Free refreshments will be served following the event.  Volunteers are asked to wear sturdy footwear and bring gloves and eye protection.  The event will be hosted by OVLC Stewardship Director Rick Bisaccia and Euterpe Farms’ Smitty West who will give a talk on preserve stewardship and water pollution.

Euterpe Farms, pictured above, is a 5-acre native plant farm located at 587 S. Rice Road in Ojai and overlooking the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy’s Ventura River Preserve and Los Padres National Forest. Owner Smitty West is a musician as well as an educator and private supplier of Ojai Valley  native plants for landscaping and education.
