Join us Friday, September 16, at Under the Open Sky—a locally sourced farm-to-table dinner by Lorraine Lim Catering, live music by Dave Cipriani, beer provided by Topa Topa Brewing Co., spirits by Ventura Spirits, kombucha donated by Revel, wine donated by Bonny Doon Vineyard, Lapis Luna Wines, The Big Red Monster, and Bubble Butt Rosé Seltzer, live music by Dave Cipriani, a virtual auction, and a paddle raise. When the sun sets we will enjoy a collection of films selected for this special event that will not be shown on Saturday night, including Patagonia’s latest short film “North Shore Betty” that will be followed by an in person Q&A with the star of film, world-class athlete Betty Birrell.
All attendees will also receive a complimentary ticket to Saturday night’s Mountainfilm on Tour.
This event will sell out. Please purchase your tickets early.

We want to host the best and safest film festival possible. Conditions surrounding Covid-19 are changing and guidelines and safe practices are being followed from the CDC, Federal, State, and Local governments. The festival will follow all current guidelines that are in place. OVS and OVLC may require stricter guidelines. You must comply with all requirements to attend the event and refunds will not be issued if you fail to comply.
Special Guest
Betty Birrell aka North Shore Betty
We are excited to announce that world-class athlete, Betty Birrell, is going to be our special guest at Under the Open Sky this year! At age 45, Betty picked up mountain biking after pioneering women’s professional windsurfing in her early days followed by a successful career in mountaineering. Now nearly three decades later, the single mother has made a name for herself shredding the harrowing mountain biking trails of British Columbia’s North Shore Mountains, and she’s not stopping anytime soon. For Betty, life is one giant playground and her story is truly inspiring. A role model to her son and the world, Betty is living proof that you’re never too old to send it.
