All About Ojai – Tales of the Condor
All About Ojai: Tales of the Condor
Presented by Jill Forman
Saturday, June 8 at 10 am
OVLC Office, 370 W. Baldwin Road Bldg. A4
On Saturday, June 8, experts from Friends of the California Condor Wild and Free will discuss the California condor, and how it has survived multiple challenges. The latest challenge was the Thomas Fire that roared through the Los Padres National Forest and into the 53,000 acre Sespe Condor Sanctuary. In addition, the presenters will give us an update on the current situation at the sanctuary.
The California condor almost disappeared from the face of the earth due to human activity. Thanks to human intervention, today the condor is once again soaring over the mountains of the American West.
Friends of California Condors Wild and Free is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to enhance public awareness of the endangered California Condor and ensure they are protected, healthy, and free. This is done in collaboration with the Hopper Mountain National Wildlife Refuge Complex and other organizations. For more information, visit: www.friendsofcondors.org
This All About Ojai event is free to members and $10 for non-members. Spots are limited. Registration required.
