New OVLC Plant Babies

By on July 21, 2010 in News

Here is a photo of our first successful transplants at the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy’s Ojai Meadows Preserve nursery. These plants have spent the last 3-4 weeks in their rooting trays and have now graduated to soil! We are so proud of our little ones.

We still need a few more volunteers for the nursery.

The formal request follows:
The Ojai Valley Land Conservancy wants you to help in our nursery for a few hours each week. We have about 10 trays of plant cuttings (live stems of a native plant) that need to be transferred to potting soil. We also need assistance gathering more cuttings and seeds from plants on the preserve. Anyone interested in working with plants and learning about nurseries is encouraged to contact OVLC’s nursery coordinator Allegra Roth at arroth@ucdavis.edu. Allegra will arrange a time to meet you for training and orientation. If you are interested please email Allegra to coordinate a training and orientation time.
