Native Plant Sale

The Ojai Valley Land Conservancy will be opening the  nursery on the Ojai Meadows Preserve for its twice yearly native plant sale.  The sale will take place at the OVLC nursery Saturday October 5 from 9 AM to 12 PM. The nursery is located on Besant Road on the left at the first curve in the road.  Please walk in from Lomita or the Meadow as there is no parking available on Besant Road.

These are all very special plants. OVLC Nursery Managers Ron Singer & Elisa Neville have harvested native seeds from all over OVLC’s ten nature preserves.  They have watered and weeded and coddled these local natives and now they are ready to be transplanted into your yard.   Having been grown here locally from local seeds and survived with the dry weather we have had this year you can be sure they are a sturdy lot.

October is the perfect time for planting natives before the rains and cold weather arrive.

For more information on the plant sales please contact Marti Reid at 805 649-6852 ext. 2 or marti@ovlc.org.
