National Trails Day: June 3, 2023
In celebration of American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day, OVLC is hosting a number of volunteer opportunities including good old trail maintenance, trail cleanup, and some trail restoration work too. Projects will run from 8:30 am – 12 pm and range from easily accessible and not physically demanding to requiring a nice hike in with some rigorous work.
This is the perfect opportunity to get out in nature with the people you love and give back to the trails that bring us together. Our National Trails Day volunteer projects are fit for all ages and skill levels. We encourage you to invite the whole family!

Volunteer Appreciation Pool Party

In the afternoon, we are hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Pool Party at our Ventura River Steelhead Preserve from 12:30-5:30 pm to recognize all of the hard work of our volunteers. Anyone who has volunteered with the OVLC in the past year, including new volunteers at National Trails Day, is invited to attend the party. We will provide cold drinks, delicious food, good music, and a mountain of gratitude. All you need to bring is a swim suit and a towel. We hope you can join us, and thank you again for contributing your time, energy, and skills to the OVLC!
