DECEMBER 7 – WINTER MIGRATION BIRD WALK

By on November 19, 2013 in Events

Jesse Grantham Bird Watch Join Jesse Grantham for a birding tour of the Ojai Meadows Preserve on Saturday morning, December 7th, at 8:30 AM.  This is winter migration time so you will have a chance to learn about bird species who make their home here year round, or just in the winter and those who just stop by for a rest on their way somewhere else.

The Ojai Valley Land Conservancy acquired the Ojai Meadows Preserve in 2001 and since then has worked to restore the former weed-choked parcel to its original state as natural wetlands.  Since restoration work first began over a hundred bird species have returned to call the Meadows home.  Meet at the kiosk entrance by the turnout on highway 33 next to Nordhoff.  This is an easy 2 hour walk on uneven ground so wear sturdy shoes and bring water and sun protection and binoculars if you have them.

Jesse Grantham is a renowned bird expert, the retired coordinator for the US Fish and Wildlife Service National Condor Recovery program. and former board member of the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy.

This is an easy walk on uneven terrain.  Wear sturdy shoes and sun protection and bring water.  OVLC can provide some binoculars but bring your own if you have them.

Question about Dec. 7th Bird Walk: is there a fee? If so how much?
