Arundo removal is a local and state-wide priority
Arundo removal is a priority in numerous natural resource management plans including the Ventura River Watershed Management Plan, California Climate Action Plan, Ventura County Integrated Regional Water Management Plan, and the endangered species recovery plans for Southern Steelhead, California red-legged frog, least Bell’s Vireo, and southwestern willow flycatcher. Funding for the removal of Arundo has also been a priority for the State Department of Water Resources, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the federal Natural Resources Conservation Service.
